Software & Version: iWork, 2009

Description: I am very much excited about the fascinating Keynote in iWork '09. Not that other applications in it are boring but that's what got my attention in the first place. Well, I tried to install it in Windows 7 (and had asked for help in various forums) but was unable to do so. So, I thought if it was possible to install that in Ubuntu (mine is 10.10) as both Mac OS X and Linux are designed under the UNIX base. I may be wrong but that's why I need help. Here are my computer details:
Model: Toshiba L510 satellite
Processors: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Intel Graphics
OS: Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7

1st install wine in Ubuntu then download and install iWork, 2009 like as windows. wine is designed for installing windows program in Ubuntu...

Method 1 (GUI):
Step1.
Open the Synaptic package manager.
Step 2.
Click the "Search" button on the top toolbar.
Step 3.
Enter wine as the search term, and click OK.
Step 4.
Check the boxes next to the wine and wine-utils packages, indicating that you want to install them.
Step 5.
Click the "Apply Changes" button on the top toolbar.

Method 2 (CLI):
Step 1.
Open a terminal.
Step 2.
Issue this command:

sudo apt-get install wine wine-utils

Done!

hello dude......
Thanks for the info about installing Wine but I don't think you are getting the point......the reason i wanted to try iWork '09 in ubuntu is because that Mac-based software is not supposed to

work in Windows PCs and it did not, in fact, in my Windows 7 laptop......so i was thinking if someone had some hack or something to get that software installed in Ubuntu, at least.........
