Zorin OS 4 Ultimate

From what I've read Zorin OS 4 Ultimate is as close to a windows style GUI as you can get.
It is supposed to be very stable (unlike windows)
If you have a copy or something that is better (ie. Redhat Enterprise v5 or higher x86)
I would be interested in trying it out to see if I can adapt to a new OS.
Hell, I'm 53 and I don't know if I can learn a whole new system.
Also, if you can recomend any good books on Linux filing and scripting, let me know.
Thanks,

There are a lot of linux distro's.....it really come down to personal preference ....this one is the closest to windows that I have seen .......to use linux you may have to get used to a few different software options

Linux seems to be easier to setup but there is less options for software than windows

Btw most linux Os's can be run as a live cd ....which means that you don't have to install it to try it .....just set your pc to boot from the cd and let the Os load then you can use it as you normally would ....it will let you surf the net and listen to music watch videos etc

Hope this helps :)

short answer is no...the "drivers" are included in the kernal. But some hardware might need to have drivers installed (very few).
the thing about looking like windows is exactly that, it only looks like windows...i think alot of distros with the KDE gui look similar to windows but with better usability then this (opinion).

the only bad part is the games,, Linux Wine doesn't support them all...

This is pretty cool .....downloaded and run as a live cd (download core not the lite version) loads fairly quickly and has some nice features .....there is also a ton of software (apps)

This is well worth a try....I might try installing this and see if it is any better :)

just got this and ran as live CD, very nice, lots of stuff already included, nice software tab like ubuntu to download and install other things too. I may switch my kids OS to this one, seems very very nice, feels more like the win7 I am used to unlike ubuntu
